Prashna Kundli means "Question Chart."It is a powerful branch of astrology where a chart is made for the exact time and place the question is asked. It doesn’t need the person’s birth time. It works only on the strength of the question and divine timing.
How to Make a Prashna Kundli?
To cast a Prashna chart, you need only three things:
Exact time the question is asked
Date of the question
Place (City/town) where the question is asked
Using this info, you generate a Lagna chart (Ascendant chart) just like a normal birth chart — but this one is for the moment of the question, not birth.

How Does Prashna Kundli Work?
According to ancient belief, “When a sincere question arises in the mind, the universe already knows the answer.”
At that moment, the planets form a pattern in the sky that reflects the answer. Your job as an astrologer is to read that pattern. You treat the Lagna (Ascendant) of the chart as the person asking, and then judge the relevant houses.
How to Use Prashna Kundli?
Here’s a step-by-step method:
1. Determine the Main Houses
Every question is linked to certain houses. Examples:
Job-related → 6th, 10th, 11th
Marriage → 7th, 11th, 2nd
Lost items → 2nd, 4th, 11th
Travel → 3rd, 9th, 12th
2. Check the Ascendant (1st House)
This represents the person asking. Its strength tells you:
Are they serious?
Will things move quickly?
Is the question clear?
3. Analyse the Sub Lords (if using the KP system)
In KP astrology, the Sub Lord of the relevant house is key. It should connect with the required houses to give a positive answer.

The moon shows the mind of the querent. Its placement tells the emotional state and urgency.
Example 1: Job Selection Prashna
Question: “Will I get selected in the interview I gave yesterday?”Date: 18 June 2025, Time: 4:45 PM, Place: Delhi
In the Prashna chart:
Ascendant: Scorpio
The 10th lord, the Sun, is in the 8th house and is weak.
The 6th house lord, Mars, is in the 10th house
11th house (gain) lord is in the 8th house is weak.
👉 Answer: NO – 11th and 10th lord making connection in 8th house, which is not considad good. Here, Mars in the 10th house is making a connection with the Sun. But Sun(career), Mercury (gain), and Mars(job) are not establishing any connection with each other. This is the Vedic system.
If we use the KP, we will find the sub lord of the 6th house (job), which is Mars(significators-1,2,6,10). Now, we will see the star lord and sublord of Mars, who are Ketu(significators-8,10) and Rahu(significators-4,5,8). Here, sub-lord Rahu is not showing significators- 6, 10, 11. Hence, the answer is NO.
