Rahu & Ketu are shadow planets. In mythology, Rahu & Ketu is a demons.  there is a story behind it That starts from the Samudra Manthan(churning ocean). According to the legend, when the Devas (gods) and the asuras(demons) were churning the Kshir ocean, Amrit(the elixir of immortality) also came out at that time. To get Amrit, a fight started between the Dev and the asura. However, the powerful Asuras had snatched the amrit kalas(pitcher of the elixir of immortality) and wanted to become immortal by drinking it. That's why Lord Vishnu assumed the avatar (form) of Mohini and got that pot of nectar. After this, Lord Vishnu's Mohini avatar (form) started giving nectar to both of them from Kalash. lord, Vishnu knew that if the Asuras drank the nectar, they will become immortal, and there would be an uproar in the world. In such a situation, he started giving nectar to the gods and alcohol to the demons. However, the asura named Swarbhanu demons came to know that Lord Vishnu himself has taken the form of Mohini and is giving all the nectar to the gods. He too went and sat in the line of the deities. When he started drinking nectar, Chandra Dev and Surya Dev got some doubt and they told this thing to Lord Vishnu. When Lord Vishnu came to know about this, he beheaded the demon. He did not die due to the effect of amrit and his head and torso remained alive. Only after this, the head of Swarbhanu was called Rahu and the body was called Ketu. They have not been given ownership of any zodiac. They give results according to the house in which they sit. They destroy the house in which they sit. They are considered malefic planets. But according to Rishi Prasher, If they sit with Kendra and trikon swami they give auspicious results. Rahu's effect is sudden. Rahu with mars or Saturn usually causes accidents.
